Landing a job now is difficult. You may have to heroic. Your character is being tested.
Your unemployment is almost certainly not your fault. Don't be hard on yourself.
You will need to be very resourceful. Networking with as many people as possible
is a very good idea. Most cities have social networks. Explore them. You will enjoy them.
Search for Job Fairs in your area. Sharpen your technical skills, in the areas
in demand. Let personnel agencies and professional staffers know about you
and what makes you unique. Google "jobs" "technical writer" (or whatever you do.)
You never know! It only takes one good offer to get back to work, not that being
unemployed is a "piece of cake".
But there's sommthing else you can do, that will give you a big edge.

When you go to see them or, when you call them, consider mentioning
that you can tell them a lot about their stock. Perhaps, that will tip the scale in
