                                                                              5/29/08

If you want to get STOCK data earlies than 8:00 PM from Dial Data.  Save PEERCOMS.exe
into c:\peercomm and then from that directory run PEERCOMS.exe     This uses the *DJI symbol for
relative strength purposes and is available sooner.  Later in the day, Dial Data updates *DWI X
and the PEERCOMM.exe should work.  We'll see tonight if I'm right. EPEERCOM,exe also
works early in the day.  But does not get the index data properly.

                                   7/15/2008
Save EPEERCOM.exe  into c:\peercomm  and create an
icon for it and put the icon on your desk top
or use the command   Run c:\peercomm\EPEERCOM.exe"

This will let you get stock data right after the market closes

         (1)  SELF-EDITING
BAD DATA SENT FROM DIAL DATA.

The retrieval program fix here works if Dial Data provides the data correctly.
But I noticed that they provide data for the DJI for 5/27/08, 2/18/08 and 3/21/08
                                   when there was no trading.
This produces an inconsistent count of the number
of days of data for the DJI and stocks, etc. and causes the Peercomm program
not to want to accept the data.  When you get such an error message -
inconsistent number of records for DJI and NYSE..., there is a way to fix
this problem now, before I can figure a solution..  Here are the steps to fix it.

                                               1.) Go to Peercomm
2.) From the top pull down the menu Tiger Stocks
3.) Click Tools and Edit Last Tiger Retrieval.
                                               4) Click OK
This shows you all the lines of your retrieval.  Use the vertical scroll bar
and find *DJI on the extreme left with the date for a holiday when there
was no trading, but Dial Data has started to insert a line for.

Then look for a row with a "0,"  after the sixth comma.
If the values after the second comma, third comma, fourth comma and fifth
comma are all the same, delete the line by highlighting it and using the delete
command with the right mouse key.

The bad line of be deleted will look something like this:
                                                                      *DJI ,080321     ,12361.320     ,12361.320      ,12361.320,     12361.320,      0,     0,
                                                or
                                                                      *DJI   ,080218,    12348.210,     12348.210,       12348.210,   12348.210,       0,    0

Be sure to eliminate the space between the lines (daily records)

Then from the File sub-menu at the upper left.click Save

                                  Next click X

Answer Yes to the Question "Do you want to update your stocks using this edited retrieval?"

Be sure Tiger Data is highlighted.

                                  Click Append New Data.

This will get you past a bad line of data.

(2) A New Peercomm to Download.

5/20/2008    Download EXTRA.exe and execute it to place a new PEERCOMM
Dial Data retrieval program in your computer.   Be sure to close
the existing peercomm.exe program in your computer before opening
                           EXTRA.exe.

They assure me that they are now providing the correct theoretical highs.

"Please be advised that back on May 8th Dial Data has made available "Actual Value" Dow Jones symbols for those who may be interested, these symbols are listed below and should not be confused with the symbols you are normally accustomed to downloading.

"

                                  (3) *DJI will get the DJI's Trading Highs & Lows.

5/29/2008     Save PEERCOMS.exe into your computer in C:\PEERCOMM
.   This version uses *.DJI and allows you to get stock data earlier in the day
because *DJI is available when stocks are.  The hypothetical highs and
lows are not available until much later in the afternoon.
DO NOT USE PEERCOMS FOR INDEX retrievals.  Doing so will get
the trading highs and lows, which Peerless does not use.  Use the regular
                                      Peercomm program for that.

You can now add *DJI as a stock symbol and treat the DJIA as a stock.
Here is the current chart.  There is no valid opening price, so the Opening and
Closing Lines do not appear.  Neither will relative strength lines versus the DJI.

(5) Tiger Computations of Theoretical Highs and Lows

             5/20/2008
It still appears that the theoretical high and
low for the DJI  are not the same we can compute using
the following technique.  Perhaps, the difference owes to
slight differences in the "quotient".   The percentage differences
                            are small.

Tiger Calculation of theoretical high and low.

                            1) Add up the closings of the 30 DJI stocks.  Call it
                                "sumofcloses".
                            2) Divide the sumofclose by the DJIA's reported closing price.
                                Call this "quotient".
                            3) Add up the sum of highs of each of the 30 DJI stocks
and divide this by "quotient".  This is the estimated
                                 theoretical high.
4.) Add up the sum of lows of each of the 30 DJI stocks
and divide this by "quotient".  This is the estimated
                                theoretical low.
5.) Replace the reported trading high with the estimated
                                theoretical high.
6.) Replace the reported trading low with the estimated
                                theoretical low.
